Diego’s new sculpture has been installed at the corner of 3rd Street and Cloverdale Blvd. After much contemplation Diego is giving this sculpture the title of “Tidal Wave”
There is a saga behind the new sculpture replacing “Being”. “Being” was installed on April 28th, judges gave “Being” the First Place Award on May 2nd. On June 4th at the Artists’ Reception “Being” was voted “People” Choice”. At the end of June “Being” sold and was removed and a temporary sculpture “Living Steel” by Diego replaced “Being”. On August 16th “Living Steel” left Cloverdale to be exhibited in a show in Oregon.
Once “Being” sold, Diego started working on a replacement for the Trail. He had the following comment about the replacement, “I’ve exaggerated the curve quite a bit because I’ve been wanting to do something like this in a sculpture for a while. I figured that this would be a good time to try it out.”
