In m.c. Carolyn’s artist statements she describes her work – “I enjoy the challenge of working as large as a budget allows to create a sculptural solution that fits the site and purpose. I have created very large abstract sculptures that involved stacking, fitting, and carving stone blocks/slabs. At all times I push the forms to become a sculpture that moves, balances, and supports.

2009 & 2013 “The Listener”, 9’ x 3’ x 3.6’ - foam, epoxy coating and auto paint on welded steel base.
“The Listener” is a large green woman quietly sitting and listening to the sounds around her. The sounds of each environment flow around her, and often she is part of the conversation. “The Listener” even seems to move when viewed from the corner of your eye.
2005 "Untitled, September, 9/11”, 2 ½ ‘x 4 ½ ‘ x 16” - San Florian Marble.
m.c. started this sculpture on 9/11 and after doubt about her original concept, m.c. continued the sculpture as a woman who is bent over, has her head buried in her skirt with her face protruding. Her balance is very precarious. m.c. wonders, can she maintain this denial position?
The Big Candy Apple
2014 "The Big Candy Apple" 70” x 29” x 20” - industrial foam, water-based epoxy, auto paints and red travertine, Persian stone base.
This sculpture of is a visual statement about a large candy apple and the shape of a Gravenstein apple. What could be more appealing to the eye as true “eye candy”?
2017 – m.c. Carolyn donated “The Big Candy Apple” to the City of Cloverdale, which was moved to its permanent home in front of the library.
