Beth explains her work, “Although many of my materials are modern, at least when used in art (rusting rolled steel, metal mesh, copper and wire), I work to expose universal emotions. My themes involve our environments and health.”

2005 “Copper Clouds"11’ x 10’ x 6’ – copper sheet metal and metal pipes.
In the Plaza 4 clouds floating up high with one cloud dispensing a light mist to refresh people who pushes the cloud button.
2006 “Varicello Vi”, 37” x 29” x 32” – copper sheet metal.
One in a series of sculptures which explores the lyrical quality of shorebirds.
2009 “Truncated" 88” x 26” x 30” - pierced steel segments welded together leaving holes to see into and through to the other side.
All of us are worried about the vegetation in our warming environment. This hard steel sculpture speaks to hope about the hardiness of our trees, and their beauty even as they go through decay.
2010 "She Won’t Say" 60” x 22” x 14” - stained cement and steel.
With homage to Man-Ray Beth constructed these cement red lips (one side of the sculpture), which you can rotate to reveal a pregnant woman (on the opposite side).
2014 Column l, Column ll 100” x 60” x 60” – steel.
Depict trees affected by their new weather conditions.
2016 "Hung Up" 6’ x 55’ x.5’ - fiber, wood, metal.
This hanging sculpture conceived by Beth and Allegra Burke, evolved from a love of 3 dimensional objects and an appreciation for women’s work. It was an opportunity to tie together women of all ages from ancient to contemporary.
Allegra views her art as “A serious matter, one in which I have a vehicle for speaking out both socially and politically. My art is an expression of my current state of mind.”
2017 “Deflated" 43” x 25” x 26”, steel.
The sculpture relates to the state of profession football. Sculpture Jam artists, which includes Beth, have been working together for 25 years to create interesting public sculptures.
2018 "Whale’s Trail" by Sculpture Jam, 6’6” x 40” x 36”, steel frame, wire lath, canvas & asphalt overlay, diamond plate fluke.
“Whale’s Tail
was created to capture the grace and power of the whales traveling up the California coast.
2019 “Zephyra” by Sculpture Jam – 11’8” x 2’ x 2’ , steel, aluminum, lexan. In Greek mythology, “Zephyrus” was the personification of the west wind and the bringer of light spring and early summer breezes. The Collective created “Zephyra” as a female west wind. The sculpture is topped by a wind turban turbine, which when wind is present, will slowly turn the gears in the face and abdomen of “Zephyra”.
2020-2022 “Derrick” by Sculpture Jam – 130” x 48” x 48” – steel, solar panel & components, projector, LED lighting. The sculpture references old-time derricks. It holds up a solar panel which powers its piercing red eyes and, at night, initiated a hidden projector to direct a slow light spiral on the ground.
