Joe Bologna became a full-time sculptor after being a successful San Francisco Bay Area architect for thirty years. Joe’s sculptures have been enjoyed throughout the greater Bay Area, including Cloverdale, as he has participated in past sculpture exhibits in our community. He enjoys working in metal and is the proud owner of a large scrape pile of metal. Looking through his pile of metal he sees not rusty, twisted metal, but eyeballs, animals and people. Joe takes pride in diverting materials from the landfill route, then combining them to create a bit of visual interest or to put a smile on viewers’ faces.
Again, Joe is exhibiting in Cloverdale as part of the Sculpture Trail. Joe’s sculpture is “All Stars”, created out of fire sprinkler heads by the manufacture, Stars. The sprinkler heads sit atop garage door springs which are attached to a steel beam and then a redwood base assembly. This sculpture is 60″ tall by 68″ long and 24″ wide and is being exhibited by the Courtyard complex on Cloverdale Boulevard.
